Dr. D. Elwood Dunn, a Liberian academician and author, made a generous donation of 500.00 United States dollars. The funds were used to restore pipe-borne water to the school.
Access to pipe-borne water was discontinued about a year ago due to the high cost associated with Liberia Water & Sewer's billing system. The only alternative was well water, which posed significant health risks due to contamination from rust, rendering the water undrinkable and unsuitable for sanitation purposes.
Students and staff were compelled to venture off campus to purchase drinking water. Another challenge posed by the water from the well meant that the classrooms and restrooms could not be adequately sanitized.
Dr. Dunn’s contribution has changed this narrative, and now our school community is replete with joy and excitement, knowing that not only do we now have access to safe, noncontaminated water, but the added cost of buying drinking water has been eliminated.
Let us strive to follow the examples of both Mrs. Joyce Frankfort and Dr. D. Elwood Dunn in seeking to create a more inclusive and equitable society where every individual can fulfill their potential.
We Are Grateful…Thank You.
